The big event is coming up))) this is the time already to find out where our food and other stuff is going to come from. Since almost all of us have vkontakte account I've got an idea to discuss it here so let's get it started!!! Yes, not everybody has joined just yet, but its ok, we can still start the discussion! I have no idea how all this is gonna work, but here is how i see it: Basically, we split the groceries in couple of categories: 1) -Alcohol+soft drinks =))) the most important one got to be first on the list 2) -Meat (chicken, beef, pork, fish, sausages, beacon, crab meat) 3) -Veggies (stuff for salads, like corn, peas, potatoes; also veggies like tomatoes cucumbers and staff that can be cut and put on the table as the separate dish) 4) -Desserts+fruits 5) -General (Anything, that does not fit into any of the categories -Ketchup, mayo, bread, eggs etc.) Please , let everyone know what things would you like to see in each category and why, but keep the budget in mind - lets not order frog legs and Dom Perignon champagne =)) Then, considering everybody's opinion - we will make a list of things, that appeared in our discussion most frequently and then divide them between every body. Also leave your thoughts about actual preparation and cooking process - should we cook staff like salads, shashlik and staff at home, or should we get there and cook all together with a bottle of beer in our hands and some nice music. -- advantages & dissadventegies of "cooking at home" are bla bla bla... -- advantages & dissadventegies of "cooking together" are bla bla bla... I will go ahead and post the first post, using my own theory=) p.s - if anyone has a different opinion on how to do this - please speak up! Im only doing this to get the process going!!! I like beer and whiskey and not necessarily in this order=)))) For beer - Budweiser or Yengling work for me - they are not expensive and taste OK. But i also dont mind other beers! Whiskey - basically any kind is Ok for me! Vodka might be a good substitution, but if we go with vodka, lets get something on the higher end, like grey goose or ketle one, or maybe someone has an access to ukrainian somogon - that will be perfect=) -----2) Meat I think we can get a little bit of everything, but i personally prefer pork - just because pork shish kebab (shashlik) is very tender and juicy! beef is good, but more expensive- if we get a cheap beef - it most likely will be chewy (tough or rubbery). WE can use few packs of bacon for breakfast, and some crab meat for salads. chicken fillet for salads may be... ------3) Veggies A couple of pounds of tomatoes, cucumbers, potatoes, some onion, some canned staff like corn, peas and whatever else we need for olivje=)) Girls- speak up on this one. -----4) Desserts - I personally am not a big fan of desserts, but some cake and candys will probably get the job done. -----5 General We need some mayo for salads - for sure! spice sause to go with meat. Bread of course. plastic utensils. Air mattress - we will be short on beds for everyone so dont be surprised. i have one mattress, that i will take with me, but it does not necessarily mean that i am the one that does not have a bed=)) I think we can switch up and every night someone else will sleep on mattress
